I have to get drawing again. Not drawing and just thinking of drawing will be the e n d of me. :X

The species I was thinking up of will be here soon. And by soon I mean not in a month or two months. Possibly weeks at most. :D

Hiatus

1 min read
But not for long.

Though school is starting up after a 2-week strike, I will hopefully try to include a little bit of artsy time for this account next weekend. Spam me if I don't remember! I think I need to be forced out of this art lull time.

EDIT IS ON THE BOTTOM :meow:

So I'm finally getting around to this. Yay!

Please note that they are a CLOSED species.

Names: These creatures are often known as Sailwings, but are also called Swiftwings or Sunchasers, or Flying Scorpions by some enthusiasts.

Physical description: They have the general profile of a huge pterosaur, but with dragon-esque features that can vary.( Such as spikes, spines, sparse feathers, horns, crests, etc, of different shapes and sizes)

In order to imagine how a Sailwing would move along the ground, watch this clip: They have backwards-facing teeth to make quick work of meals.
More common colourations tend to be light hues of blues, purples, greens.
Rare colourations are orange, red, or not having any colour at all.
Lighter colour morphs are more common than dark morphs.

An interesting feature is the Sailwing's tail is how it splits into two over its juvenile period. After 7 years, the tail will complete this bizarre "evolution." You'll see exactly how this works after in the ref. sheet that I'm currently working on. :la:

Temperament: These creatures are very curious, and often snatch away tourist's cameras, sunglasses, hats, and especially food. They also chase the tourism helicopters that fly low over the mountains. Sailwings are often seen flying in large numbers, and sleep in piles to keep themselves warm at night.

Where they live: In the beautiful seaside mountains of Na Pali in Kauai, Hawaii. They often travel to active volcanoes and fly over the flowing lava to warm up. This happens near morning and dusk because they need to heat up their blood because they are cold-blooded creatures. They aren't fireproof, however, and some get small or large holes burned into their wings from flying too close to the volcanoes.

Now I will be adding and/or tweaking some of this, but here, have the rough copy for now! :la:

Still Alive

I took an unexpected semi-hiatus there. D:

But anyways, I have been working on the adopts I'm doing as well as the species, so those'll be up sooner rather than later.

That's all there is to report for now, I hope all of you are doing well.
